Greenville Humane Society was known as a place to adopt a pet, but the non-profit organization had a goal to increase awareness and usage for its community services and offerings that generated income and supported the care of the animals in their care. As a non-profit, the organization had limited resources. We identified an opportunity to build upon an existing event, Yappy Hour, and increase awareness to one of their key target audiences, millennial professionals who are pet owners or have a desire to support animals. We hosted an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour prior to the Yappy Hour for local social media influencers who reach the target audience. Influencers shared posts and social media stories with their followers, including key messages about the affordable vaccine clinic, spay and neuter program and retail offerings.
